About Me
My name is Josiah Ubando. Born at Castle Hospital and a lifelong resident of Kaneohe, I am deeply rooted in our community. I attended Pu’ohala Elementary, King Intermediate, and Castle High School.
Throughout my life, I have worn many hats, working various jobs that have shaped my understanding of our community’s needs. My main focuses have been teaching kids music and sports coaching, site management, and social media marketing. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to connect with people, manage resources effectively, and understand the power of communication.
Many of you might know me by my social media name, BrahKruz. My online platform started with satirical skits about the everyday quirks and challenges of life in Hawai’i. While some of my content touched on politics and government missteps, I kept it light-hearted and relatable.
In 2024, everything changed when I saw a video from Senator Brenton Awa asking for support for his bill (HB 2617). This sparked my interest in actively participating in our legislative process. After giving public testimony for the first time, I became more involved in public hearings and began questioning if these were truly the best people to create the bills and policies that shape the climate of our home.
My journey from creating satirical content to engaging in serious political discourse has led me to this point. I believe we need more everyday people with a genuine care for our community in positions of power. We deserve better leadership, and I am committed to being a representative who listens, advocates, and works tirelessly for the betterment of our home.
Together, we can bring Hawai’i back to what it used to be.
Mahalo for your support.
